We are seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent to join our team for a National Park Service housing project located in the EXTREMELY REMOTE, but STUNNING & BEAUTIFUL Lake Clark, Alaska! The project is scheduled to start in a few weeks and last through the summer (and possibly again for the Summer of 2026).
Qualified candidates must be proficient in remote, construction work in rugged, wilderness and have prior experience managing Federal construction projects (NPS, USACE, etc). We are looking for a collaborative, respectful team player who can lead subcontractors and ensure project execution meets the highest standards.

The fishing is about as good as it gets as well.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate, plan, and supervise subcontractors and/or craft activities ensuring adherence to plans and specifications, enforcing site safety and providing contractor quality control. Candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills.
Other Tasks/Duties Include:
- Provide daily on-site supervision of subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor production, schedule and performance;
- Manage subcontractor Daily Production Reports.
- Assist with coordination aspects as directed by the Project Manager.
- Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company while onsite.
- Initiate problem solving and perform repairs on any required work-related equipment, in a timely manner and within the boundaries of previous training.
- Conduct safety audits. Assist with contractor quality control and safety at construction locations.
- Assist subcontractors with Federal and National Park Service procedures and rules.
- Ensure contractors complete work on schedule while fulfilling warranty issues.
- Work with National Park Service and end users.
- Communicate daily status of current projects to Project Manager to ensure all projects are timely and within the company standards.
- Maintain 100% “Compliance Readiness” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements.
- Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include.:
- Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
- Report and address all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly.
- Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
- Maintain and demonstrate proficient working knowledge of all work-related equipment, policies, procedures and tactics at all times. Perform daily/weekly on-site customer interface.
Job Requirements
- Solid knowledge in every stage of vertical construction process, commercial institution remodeling, and the ability to supervise multiple subcontractors.
- Six (6+) years federal construction experience as a superintendent, with 4+ years on projects $3M or greater with the US Navy, National Park Service, Air Force, and/or US Army Corp.
- Must have at least 3 years of construction experience in Alaska.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Working knowledge of MS Suite.
- Strong leadership and planning skills.
- Ability to organize and lead labor trades, vendors and subcontractors.
- Must be extremely dependable and able to work independently.
- Must treat all employees, clients, subcontractors and vendors with dignity and respect.
Training Requirements:
- OSHA 30 Certified
- CPR 1st Aid training and Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to use laptop - sometimes for long periods of time.
- Ability to maneuver around construction sites with uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
- Ability to work outside in variable weather climates and conditions.
- Ability to climb – including ladders, roofs, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 60-80 lbs.
- Ability to travel as required for weeks/months at a time with no nearby medical facilities.
- Must be able to travel via small aircraft and/or boats (there are no roads to Lake Clark).
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions - heavy rain, wind, extreme temperatures, ice, snow, etc.
