Assistant Quality Control Manager (Federal Construction) 

We are seeking a team oriented Assistant Quality Control Manager to be responsible for efficient and accurate control of documents, plus data management of project documents and construction related documents. This individual will assist and support the Quality Control Manager(s) and Operations team with the processing of all government-required submittals. This is a WONDERFUL opportunity if you enjoy learning and working with a team. This position is will be located on one of our project sites in Laredo, Texas.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

  • Processes submittals into a Web based system after review and approval by the Quality Control Manager.
  • Uploads submittals into RMS and ECMS.
  • Distributes submittals after approval to subcontractors.
  • Updates the project submittal register.
  • Tracks incoming submittals from sub-contractors to AMES 1, submittal review comments from AMES 1 to subcontractors and all associated submittal actions until approval.
  • Prepare Division One Plan when needed-Quality Control Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Environmental Protection Plan etc.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recent construction experience in federal construction quality control - i.e. USACE, NAVFAC, DOE, etc. 
  • Knowledge and experieince with RMS is a large plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, maturity, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must treat people with dignity and respect.
  • Stable job history.
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check for AMES 1 and the project site (Custom & Border Protection).


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time using a desk.
  • Ability to use computer for long periods of time.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stairs, and access rooftops;
  • May be required to get around on worksites that may have uneven ground, rocks, equipment, etc;
  • Must be able to use laptop -sometimes for long period (full day);
  • Ability to travel may be required;
  • May be required to visually inspect work projects at project sites and compare to specifications.
